Niche, Please Master Your Makeup Class by Doris Lew

san diego beauty makeup classesLast week I won a free ticket to a Master Your Makeup class from Niche, Please, taught by makeup artist Doris Lew, after entering an Instagram contest. I love makeup and beauty so I was very excited! The class was taught at the lovely Normal Heights space, Hatched Collective.

I met Niche, Please business owner Ashley, who served as the model for makeup application, and Doris began her lesson telling us about her recent work at Comic-Con and how Ashely and she share a Jazzercise connection (Ashley teaches and Doris does the founder’s makeup). It’s a small world!

It was a small class so there were lots of great customized tips from Doris, who was a delightful teacher. I learned many things, including that I was not using a light enough concealer, and was applying bronzer diagonally like many tutorials…but for my long face it should be applied more horizontally. Those are just two small examples!

In my example photos, I am wearing the purple eye palette called Happy Hour, top right in this photo.
