Hello friends! I have been working on a new website for my current MBA class in e-commerce that combines some of my favorite topics: celebrating women in leadership and business, and reading books! It’s currently called Women in Leadership.
Full disclosure – the e-commerce part of the class includes affiliate links to the books reviewed. No worries if you have no interest buying the books, but I would appreciate you visiting the site and giving me feedback on what books to add and other features that may be helpful.
The site is very much in-progress and under construction as the class progresses. I plan to keep improving the site and adding reviews after class ends (my online MBA program features accelerated classes and we’re already in week 5 of 8 for this class). If you like past posts like this book review from Ellevate founder Sallie Krawcheck, you might like this new resource!
Business and Career Book Reviews
Currently, there are a handful of book reviews/overviews on the site, including:
- Flight Club, by local San Diego founder of Hera Hub, Felena Hanson
- Own It, by Ellevate Network’s and female-focused financial platform Ellevest’s founder Sallie Krawcheck.
- GirlBoss, by Nasty Gal clothing empire entrepreneur Sophia Amoruso
- In the Company of Women, by DesignSponge creative entrepreneur guru Grace Bonney
Career and Networking Resources for Business Women in leadership
The site also has a beginning list of resources such as other websites, networking groups, and more. I would highly recommend checking out Ellevate Network at the very least. The local San Diego chapter is an amazing group of women I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with over the past year at events such as a film screening of MissRepresentation, a Krav Maga self-defense class, a women’s leadership panel including the mayor of Lemon Grove and President of the Downtown San Diego Partnership (blog coming soon!), and more.
What other content would be a good match for the site? I’d love to hear your thoughts about additional books to review or sections to add to the site in the comments below, or email me at jen[at]jenbergren[dot]com.
