Fashion Week San Diego is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The first major event of the year is approaching, the Spring Showcase to introduce the designers that will be featured in fall’s Fashion Week. This year the Spring Showcase is at the historic Hotel Del Coronado, on May 13 from 6-9pm. It is open to the public. Read more about the fashion show and sample sale, and buy tickets here. I enjoyed the Spring Showcase last year on a mini-road-trip out to Harrah’s Resort, and I imagine having the event closer to San Diego at the Hotel Del will be even better!
Fashion Week San Diego’s 2017 theme is Past, Present & Future, and will be held the first week in October. In recent years the fashion shows were on the streets of downtown La Jolla, but this year’s event will be at Broadway Pier in Downtown San Diego, which is easier to access for many people. The shows are open to the public, passes will be on sale later this year.
FWSD was founded by Allison Andrews, who is also the current director of this “launching pad for designers.” Allison is also the President of APA Business Consulting and the Executive Director of FAB Authority, a non-profit which provides resources and organizes events for artists, designers, and other beauty/fashion industry professionals (FAB stands for Fashion Art Business).
